NEW YORK — The unofficial start to summer kicked off with cloudy skies and rain.
A chance of showers and thunderstorms will stick around for much of Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. Most of the area will see a quarter-inch to a half-inch of rain.
The high temperature will top out around 68 degrees.
Sunday will dry out as the sunshine returns and temperatures reach into the upper 60s.
Memorial Day is looking partly sunny and seasonable with temperatures around 73.
Expect more sunshine and warmer temperatures on Tuesday. Highs could reach into the lower 80s.
Temperatures are expected to increase during the second half of the week, as some summer-like warmth makes its way to the tri-state area.
