QUEENS — New York Mets Director of Player Relations and Community Outreach Donovan Mitchell, Sr. was tested yesterday for the Coronavirus and the result received tonight was negative.

Mitchell's son, Donovan Mitchell Jr., tested positive for the coronavirus. Donovan Sr. was told not to report to the team's facility Thursday morning and arrangements were made to have him tested.

The Mets have called this a precautionary measure. MLB has canceled the remainder of Spring Training and is delaying regular season play until at least April 9.
