NEW YORK — The COVID-19 pandemic is taking an emotional toll on many members of the class of 2020.
Many will not be able to attend traditional proms or graduations — something most have waited for their entire lives to take part in.
Doctor of Psychiatry and Executive Director at the Clay Center for Young Health Minds at Massachusetts General Hospital Gene Beresin spoke to PIX11 Morning News, discussing several ways loved ones and parents can help their kids cope during this time.
Beresin provided several tips to help children and teens cope:
- Help them stay connected
- Have frequent conversations to check in on them
- Use creative expression through the arts
- Plan activities together
- Modify negative troubled thoughts
