NEW YORK — Restaurant owner Carlos Santos isn't just keeping the doors open of his two eateries during the COVID-19 crisis, he's giving back and making people smile.

Moved to help during the pandemic, Santos teamed with Pastor Josh Kelsey of C3 NYC Church to bring meals to health care professionals and places and people often forgot, like youth detention centers.

The food comes from the kitchens of his two area restaurants: Aque Es Santa Fe in Westchester and NADAS (short for empanadas) in New York City.

On top of giving back, NADAS is still delivering food. Santos and his team are bringing orders to customers in a unique, personalized way that he hopes makes them smile while they stay home in isolation during the outbreak.
