HOBOKEN, NJ — From vintage photos on the wall to the picnic tablecloths that adorn each table, Johnny Pepperoni in Hoboken has always made it their goal to make the customer feel at home.
Owner John Avoletta has been worried about the business, but he's not letting the uncertainty call the shots.
"It has been worry after worry," Avoletta said. "You lay down at night thinking how am I gonna keep the doors open."
Avoletta and his staff are doing what they can to serve their community, which includes donating meals to local food pantries and partnering with local organizations to feed front line workers.
"To give back to our community and then have our community take care of us is some of the best things that I felt in a long time in this business," Avoletta said.
If the old school decor doesn’t reel you in, the smell of Italian favorites will.
"We are known for our marinara sauce and I eat a little bit too much of it as you could see," Avoletta quipped.
Spaghetti and meatballs along with pepperoni square pizza are popular items on the menu. The only way to find out which one will hit the spot is by paying a visit.
Johnny Pepperoni is located at 219 11th Street in Hoboken.
They are open every day for takeout and delivery, Monday - Friday starting at 4 p.m. and then Saturday and Sunday starting at 12 p.m.
