NEW YORK — The Supreme Court is expected to rule on whether it will allow the president to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which shields about 700,000 DREAMers, including 30,000 in New York City, from deportation.
Commissioner Bitta Mostofi of the Office of Immigrant Affairs explains what it would mean if the Supreme Court ruled DACA unconstitutional.
“These young people have captured the hearts and minds of all of us,” Mostofi said.
“They arrived here as youth and know no other home.”
Mostofi said we must fight for Congress to come up with a permanent solution to keep these DREAMers from being deported.
