NEW YORK — Each year, about 6.5 million animals end up in shelters in the United States. Nearly half of them find their forever homes, but others never make it out.
Today is National Change a Pet's Life Day. Hannah Stember from Best Friends' Animal Society introduces us to some furry friends to help persuade us to adopt.
This special day is for encouraging people to adopt pets from shelters and raise awareness about animals in need. There are tons of ways to celebrate and change an animal's life for the better.
Best Friends Animal Society is hosting an event for cat lovers on Saturday, Jan. 25 from 9 to 11 a.m.: Cats and Kicks. You can adopt a feline friend for free!
