NEW YORK — The death of George Floyd and the outrage it has ignited may be hard to explain to young children, but there's a good place for parents to start.
Author Jelani Memory wrote "A Kids Book About Racism" to help tackle the tough topic and helps parents start a conversation about race and racism that will hopefully continue well into their adult lives.
Memory spoke with PIX11's Dan Mannarino about the book and ways parents can approach the issue with their own kids.
Memory, who's written a whole series of "A Kids Book About" titles, wrote the book in 2018 to start the conversation with his own children. The author has six children, ages 1 to 16.
