NEW YORK — Angelina Liu, the miracle baby born from a Christmastime tragedy, visited PIX11 Monday with her mother, the widow of assassinated NYPD Detective Wenjian Liu, two days before Christmas.

Angelina was born by in vitro fertilization 2 ½ years after her father and his partner, Rafael Ramos, were killed on a Brooklyn street corner in late December 2014. Pei Xia Liu, Angelina's mother, says she’s been surrounded by love since then. The Liu family has started a foundation in Wenjian’s name to train therapy dogs.

A Memorial Mass Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church in Brooklyn brought out top officials of the NYPD, including Police Commissioner Dermot Shea and First Deputy Commissioner Benjamin Tucker.

They paid tribute to—and prayed with—the two widows who lost their husbands that day.

Now, Pei Xia shares the story of her daughter's miraculous birth, along with that of the support of the NYPD.
