MARINE PARK, Brooklyn — A police tow truck driver is dead after he suffered an apparent medical episode and hit a tree in Brooklyn.
Police responded to the scene of a crash on Flatbush Avenue in Marine Park just before 6 p.m. Monday. They found 61-year-old Anthony Edgehill unconscious and unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a New York Police Department tow truck. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police investigators determined that Edgehill suffered a “possible medical episode” that caused him to veer off the roadway. They say the tow truck mounted a curb and came to rest against a tree.
The investigation is ongoing, authorities said.
