RIDGEWOOD, QUEENS — UPDATE: Police have arrested a 12-year-old boy in connection to the attempted rape of a woman in Queens.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Police are searching for a suspect accused of attempting to rape a woman in Queens Monday morning, police said.

It happened in the vicinity of Gates and Cypress avenues in Ridgewood around 8 a.m.

The 37-year-old woman was heading home when a man approached her and followed her into her building, police said.

Once they were inside, the suspect pushed the victim to the floor and attempted to remove her clothes, according to police.

She fought back and the suspect fled the building, cops said.

Police released surveillance footage of the suspect sought, who is described to be a man between 20 and 30 years of age, but police later arrested a 12-year-old boy in connection to the incident.
