QUEENS — It's been more than a year since Amazon scrapped plans for a second headquarters in Long Island City, but now the company is set to open a delivery station in Queens.
It's not yet clear when and where in the borough the station will be, but it is expected to create hundreds of full-time and part-time jobs, a company spokeswoman said.
“We are excited to increase our investment in the New York City area with a new delivery station that will provide fast and efficient deliveries and create hundreds of job opportunities for the talented local workforce," an Amazon spokeswoman said.
The delivery station itself will be approximately 120,000 square feet. Once a parking structure is factored in, it will be 1 million square feet.
