FREEHOLD, NJ — Two New Jersey teenagers have admitted their roles in the death of their newborn baby, whose dead body was tossed into an outdoor trash bin.

Eighteen-year-old Jada McClain of Neptune pleaded guilty Monday to aggravated manslaughter by pressing on the chest of her newborn son until he stopped breathing. Nineteen-year-old Quaimere Mohammed, also of Neptune, pleaded guilty to disturbing or desecrating human remains.

They are to be sentenced March 20.

Under the terms of a plea bargain, McClain faces 10 years in prison, and Mohammed faces five.

The killing occurred in March 2019.
