A 3-year-old New Jersey girl is showing "no obvious injuries" after being struck by a motor vehicle in Fair Lawn Monday.

The incident occurred at 2:50 p.m. The girl was walking hand-in-hand behind her mother while in a crosswalk on Plaza Road when she was hit by a 2019 Chevy. The driver was a 79-year-old woman from Ridgewood.

The vehicle was making a left turn from Fair Lawn Avenue west onto Plaza Road south when it hit the child and sent her about 10 feet along the roadway.

An ambulance took the child to a local hospital for a medical evaluation. Authorities say she was showing no obvious injuries.

The driver was given summonses for an improper turn, failure to stop for a pedestrian and failure to exhibit a driver's license.
