JERSEY CITY — Two bodies were found dead in the Hudson River along the Jersey City waterfront Saturday, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor's office.
The first was found around 7:30 a.m. near the end of Morris Canal Park on reports of a woman in the water. They found a 22-year-old Manhattan woman. She was pronounced dead at 7:40 a.m.
The second body was discovered just before 1 p.m. in the Morris Canal, about 50 feet from the first victim. He's been identified as 23-year-old Umair Saleh of Edison. He was pronounced dead at 1:08 p.m.
The prosecutor's office and county prosecutor Esther Suarez says they are investigating. No arrests have been made.
The cause and manner of death of both victims is pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner.
