CENTRAL PARK — Exercising has become one of the top goals for many on the road to better health in the new year.
While It can be challenging to stick to those goals overtime, one community-based running organization started a global virtual race that can help you stay on track.
The New York Road Runners Club is the largest community running organization in the world. The organization has partnered with STRAVA, a social fitness network that helps people get fit and connect with other runners from all over the world with their virtual racing resolution 5K.
While committing to any exercise routine can be tough, the virtual run offers flexibility in more ways that one. You can run anywhere in the world on your own time.
Just download the free Strava app to your smartphone, and hit record when your ready to go. Once you’ve finished your run, save it, tag it as a race, and then you’re added to list with others who’ve completed the race.
When you participate in the virtual 5K, you’re automatically entered to win a spot in this year’s NYC marathon. That gives you one more reason to give it a try. You have until January 12th to join the virtual 5K.
