MIDTOWN, Manhattan — Advocates are calling for the completion of protected bike lanes along a busy Manhattan street.

Transportation Alternatives demand that Mayor Bill de Blasio complete the bike lanes along Sixth Avenue all the way to Central Park.

The bike lanes currently end at 35th Street.

Members of the Transportation Alternatives group led a musical procession up Sixth Avenue from 35th Street to 42nd Street, which included a performance of a song with spoofed lyrics to the tune of the Talking Heads’ “Road to Nowhere.”

Advocates argue that cyclists are forced to funnel from protected lanes into unprotected ones, posing more unsafe conditions.
