FARMINGDALE, L.I. — An off-duty New York City police officer fatally shot a man on Long Island Tuesday night, the NYPD said Wednesday.
Nassau County Police said cops responded to a 911 call of a shooting around 8 p.m. and discovered the body of a 25-year-old man with gunshot wounds in front of a home on Langdon Road in Farmingdale.
The NYPD later confirmed that an officer in the department discharged a firearm and fatally struck the victim in the head.
The details surrounding the deadly shooting are not clear at this time.
There is no word on any arrests but the investigation remains ongoing, police said. The Nassau County district attorney is investigating the incident.
