JAMESPORT, NY — A man was shot by police after he allegedly fired repeatedly at his dad and Suffolk County officers on Wednesday night, police said.

Officers arrived at a Manor Lane home in Jamesport around 7:45 p.m. for a domestic incident between dad William J. Klatt and son William G. Klatt. While the 60-year-old dad spoke with police outside, the 32-year-old son removed the screen from a window and opened fire with a shotgun.

While police and the dad took cover, the son came outside and continued to exchange gunshots with police, officials said. William G. Klatt was shot once and taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

His dad and three police officers were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
