PLAINVIEW, L.I. — A Long Island man is facing multiple charges after driving intoxicated with his young child in the vehicle on Thursday, according to police.
Authorities said officers responded to a 911 call at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Library in Plainview around 5:20 p.m. and found Emisael Villatoro, 41, driving in an intoxicated condition.
After a subsequent investigation, Villatoro, of Westbury, was arrested without incident, police said.
The man's 6-year-old daughter was a passenger in his vehicle and was released into the custody of her mother, officials said.
Villatoro now faces charges including driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child under 16 in the vehicle, under the Leandra Law, and endangering the welfare of a child.
