MEDFORD, L.I. — Three young men were wounded when shots rang out near a park for children Tuesday night in the Long Island hamlet of Medford, officials said.
According to Suffolk County Police, a 911 call came in around 10 p.m. reporting shots fired on Shirley Lane, in front of a children's park.
Two of the victims, ages 19 and 25, were able to get to the nearby Gordon Heights Fire Department to seek help, while a third victim, 26, made his way to a nearby hospital by private vehicle, police said.
The 25-year-old victim remains in critical condition Wednesday morning, while the other two men are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to officials.
