QUEENS, N.Y. — The entrance hall to LaGuardia Airport’s new Terminal B officially opened on Saturday.
Travelers can now plan for direct access to arrivals and departures at Terminal B’s gates and concourse, which opened in October 2019.
Ground transportation, including ride-hails and taxis, is now available outside the terminal.
New restaurants and retail in the terminal also opened this weekend.
Construction crews have been essentially building a new LaGuardia around the current airport for the past four years.
The construction of another new terminal for Delta is expected to continue for another year and a half.
The reconstruction plans include a proposed airtrain, which Gov. Andrew Cuomo said would ease traffic congestion around the airport.
The plan, however, is facing opposition from residents, community groups and environmental activists.
