BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, Brooklyn — Police are looking for a woman they say stole thousands in property from the hotel room of a visiting doctor who is here helping with New York's coronavirus efforts.

According to the NYPD, around 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, it was reported to authorities that an unknown woman had entered the Texas doctor's secured room at The Brooklyn hotel, located on Atlantic Avenue in the Bedford-Stuyvesant area.

Police said the woman took clothing and jewelry, the total value of which is estimated to be about $11,000, before fleeing on foot.

The alleged thief was caught on security camera during the incident and is described by police as a woman between the ages of 20 and 30 years old.
