Man uses cane to hit boy, steals the child's phone

Man with cane assaults, robs child

SUNSET PARK, Brooklyn — A man with a cane stole an 11-year-old boy's phone and attacked the child, police said Sunday.

The boy was near Fifth Avenue and 50th Street in Sunset Park on Thursday when he was robbed, officials said. The cane-wielding robber hit the boy in the head with the cane.

He fled the intersection northbound on Fourth Avenue.

Police have asked for help identifying him. The man was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweater, a blue and black jacket, blue jeans and black and red sneakers.
