Man accused of multiple purse snatchings in Brooklyn: police

BATH BEACH, Brooklyn — A man is wanted in connection with a pair of Brooklyn robberies over the past few weeks, according to police.

The first incident took place on January 19 at around 5:50 p.m. on Bay Ridge Avenue. The unidentified man approached an 81-year-old woman and forcibly removed her purse. When she resisted, the man shoved her to the ground, causing her to hit her head on a metal fence.

The victim sustained swelling on her head and cuts to her hands. The unidentified man fled northbound towards 10th Avenue with the purse. It contained about $5, credit cards, a bank book and a social security card.

The second incident took place on January 24 at around 8:18 p.m. on Bay 25th Street in Bath Beach. A 66-year-old woman was walking home when the man knocked her to the ground and took her purse. He fled the scene in an unknown direction with $100, multiple bank and credit cards and her cell phone.

The victim sustained minor injuries but refused medical attention.
