2 wanted for slapping 89-year-old woman, trying to light shirt on fire: police

BENSONHURST, Brooklyn — Two men are wanted for assaulting an 89-year-old woman in Brooklyn, police said.

The incident took place at around 6:45 p.m. on Friday, July 17 in the vicinity of 16th Avenue and 77th Street. Two unidentified men approached the victim and one of them slapped her in the face, authorities said. They then attempted to set the woman's shirt on fire but the flame went out immediately.

The men were last seen on 16th Avenue. The victim was not seriously injured. Police are investigating.
