CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn — The NYPD said a teenage boy was shot and killed on a Brooklyn street Tuesday afternoon. Police sources say the same boy was involved in a March group assault on a teen girl in the same neighborhood.
According to authorities, cops responding to a 911 call for a shooting discovered a 16-year-old boy shot in the abdomen, laying along Saint Johns Place, between Utica and Rochester avenues, in the Crown Heights neighborhood.
EMS rushed the boy to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
The NYPD has identified the victim as Tyquan Howard and said he lived about two blocks from where officers found him.
Police sources told PIX11 that the teen had been linked to a vicious group beating and robbery of a 15-year-old girl in early March.
It is not clear if the two incidents are related in any way.
