THE BRONX — A yorkshire terrier is dead after a verbal dispute escalated into gunfire in the Bronx Sunday night, police said.
The incident took place at 8 p.m. on Westchester Avenue, where authorities were responding to a report of gunfire.
When they got to the scene, they found a 54-year-old man who said he got into an argument with two unknown men. The dispute got physical and the victim closed his door on the two men. One of them displayed a firearm and shot several rounds through the front door. They missed the victim but struck and killed the man's pet dog.
There have been no arrests made and the investigation is ongoing.
