THE BRONX — Police are investigating after the badly burnt body of an unidentified man was found along a Bronx highway early Monday.

According to the NYPD, officers first responded to a 911 call around 12:20 a.m. for a fire on the northbound side of the Hutchinson River Parkway, near Exit 6 to Interstate 95.

The FDNY responded and upon extinguishing the flames, authorities discovered the body of an unidentified man, officials said.

According to police, the victim's hands were tied together behind his back.

The NYPD said the medical examiner will determine the cause of death and the investigation remains ongoing.
