MORRIS HEIGHTS, the Bronx — Two people were arrested in connection to a fatal shooting in the Bronx late last year, police announced Friday.

Luis Morillo, 18, and Miles Gibson, 20, were taken into custody Thursday and face charges of murder and criminal possession of a loaded firearm, police said.

On Nov. 30, police responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the vicinity of University Avenue and Featherbed Lane.

Officers arrived to find no victims at the location, and a subsequent hospital canvass was conducted, police said.

During the course of the hospital canvass, police found a 26-year-old Oliver Askia with a gunshot to his chest. He was pronounced dead.
