MELROSE, The Bronx — An 18-year-old woman has been charged with murder after a body was found earlier this week on the roof of a McDonald’s in the Bronx, police said Saturday.
Authorities responded to a call of an unconscious person on the roof of the McDonald’s on East 149 Street in Melrose just before 6 a.m. Wednesday, according to police.
Officers arrived to find a man, unconscious and unresponsive, wrapped within a plastic bag, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man’s name has not been released by the NYPD.
Ayame Stamoulis, of Brooklyn, was arrested on Friday around 5:30 p.m. in connection with the man’s death, according to the NYPD. Police did not announce the murder charge until Saturday.
Two alleged accomplices remain at large. In charging documents, a police detective said Stamoulis and one of the accomplices moved victim Richard Hamlet’s dead body to the roof of the fast food joint roof after breaking into his apartment across the street and killing him there.
