NEW YORK — Days after testing positive for COVID-19, Queens DIstrict Attorney Melinda Katz shared her own coronavirus story with the PIX11 Morning News.
Katz also spoke to the conditions at Rikers Island during the pandemic, explaining what she and other local officials have done and are doing to protect inmates and staff.
Queens is currently the hardest-hit borough while New York City remains the state and country's epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic.
As of Monday, New York City has over 38,000 COVID-19 cases while 914 have died due to the novel coronavirus.
