NEW YORK — The city’s public hospital system is hiring non-medical staff to help combat the coronavirus outbreak, the mayor’s office announced Sunday.

NYC Health + Hospitals is looking to fill 500 positions that do not require a medical background, according to Mayor Bill de Blasio’s press secretary Freddi Goldstein.
