TRENTON, N.J. — A New Jersey health care worker has died of COVID-19, the first such death in the state.

The person worked in environmental service on the night shift every other weekend.

So far, no other health care workers or first responders have died, though two police officers were said to be in serious, but stable condition.

As of Thursday, 6,876 people have tested positive for coronavirus in New Jersey, with 81 people dead from the virus.
