MANHATTAN — As New York and the rest of the world continue to combat the COVID-19 outbreak, the Empire State Building sent out a message to honor health care and emergency workers who are on the front lines of pandemic.

On Monday, the iconic skyscraper had a light display that was meant to symbolize both a heartbeat and an emergency siren.

There was also a music-to-light show that was in sync with the Alicia Keys song “Empire State of Mind.”

The building’s Twitter account said it will shine with the “heartbeat of America” through the COVID-19 battle.
