Beware of COVID-19 conspiracy theories

NEW YORK — As COVID-19 continues to spread throughout the country and the world, misinformation surrounding the virus has also spread.

At an alarming rate, and with so many unknowns about the pandemic, experts say this has caused people to come up with several conspiracy theories.

Associate Professor of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Delaware Joanne Miller discusses the dangers behind their beliefs and how it can put people at risk.

Miller said everyone is susceptible to believing different stories surrounding COVID-19, and people should be conscious of the sources they’re receiving information from.
