NEW YORK — Jim Kwik is the world’s leading brain coach and has been teaching people how to get the most out of their minds for the last 25 years. He speaks to more than 200,000 people a year at events around the world, and has trained some of Hollywood’s biggest stars and employees at some of the world’s largest corporations.

Kwik is releasing a new book, his first ever, called “Limitless.” He spoke with PIX’11 Tamsen Fadal about the book and shared some tips for unleashing your “superbrain.”

“This book, i's really a manual on how to read faster, how to improve your focus, how to remember things better, how to solve your problems,” explained Jim.

Kwik gave us his five “C’s” for cocooning at home. The first “C” is clarity.

"I's a wonderful time for clarity,” he said, “to evaluate your life, what's important to you in your life and your relationships and your career and your family, and are your actions aligned with those values."

The second “C” is care, making sure you take care of your mind, including eating the best “brain foods.”

"Because what you eat matters, especially for your brain matter,” explained Kwik. “Things like avocados, blueberries — I like to call them brain berries.”

Jim said the third “C” is capabilities.

“You have a to-do list, but what about having a to-learn list. What are you reading every single day? I believe reading is to your mind what exercise is to our bodies” he said.

The fourth “C” is contribution. Jim said one of the best ways to get out of the fear and anxiety is through service.

“How can you contribute right now you time, your talent, your treasure to make a difference,” he said.

The fifth “C” asks how can we be creative.

“This is a wonderful time to create: to write, to do your art to do that thing you've always wanted,” said Kwik. “This can be an incredibly productive time when we look back at this.”

Kwik said you can use everyday task to challenge you brain.

One example: brushing your teeth with your opposite hand. The body-brain connection helps stimulate your mind, forcing it to focus on the task.

"I believe right now, these difficult times, they can diminish us. These difficult times can define us, or these difficult times can develop us,“ explained Kwik, “we ultimately decide.”

Kwik’s new book, “Limitless,” comes out Tuesday, April 28. You can learn more about the book and Jim Kwik’s tips on mastering your mind by clicking here.
