HARLEM, Manhattan — During the Harlem Renaissance, a lot of music genres blossomed.

Music continues to influence the iconic neighborhood. Through the end of August, there are quite a few performances scheduled featuring a variety of music acts.  Harlem Summer Stage is at the Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. State Office Building at 163 West 125th Street, Harlem, NY.  Check out these shows:

  • August 1:  R&B Night
  • August 8:  Broadway Night
  • August 15:  Memphis Harlem
  • August 22:  Harlem Havana
  • August 29:  Harlem Jazz & Music Fest

PIX11’s Craig Treadway was live at the Summer Stage in Harlem, where he met talented performers!

Jamal Joseph, Founder of the IMPACT Repertory Theatre, and members of the team, who work to develop youth activists through creative arts and leadership training, performed for us.

We also got a glimpse of the youth group Pneumatica.
