Woman killed by taxi in hit-and-run outside Stuyvesant Town: police

STUYVESANT TOWN, Manhattan — A woman was killed in a hit-and-run outside the Stuyvesant Town housing complex early Saturday morning, police said.

At 3:41 a.m., police found a woman, 44, in the bus lane, struck by an unknown vehicle between E. 16th Street and E. 17th Street on 1st Avenue.

Police say preliminary investigation shows she was laying in the street when she was hit by a taxi that fled the scene.

EMS took the woman to Bellevue Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The woman was later identified as Kenya Flores of the Bronx.

No arrests have been made.
