NEW YORK – The MTA says 7 trains are running with delays after a mechanical problem in Queens temporarily halted service between Queens and Manhattan, just as rush hour begins.
Straphangers aboard the train that ran into trouble at Hunter Point Ave., reported hearing a loud noise. No smoke or fire was present, according to MTA spokesman Kevin Ortiz.
Riders are being advised to use the E, F, M, N, Q or R lines for service between the two boroughs.
Commuters should allow for additional travel time.
