AUGUSTA, Ga. — A Georgia woman was arrested and charged with battery after allegedly attacking her boyfriend in a drunken rage for refusing to have sex with her, according to reports.
Tabatha Lee Grooms, 35, came home at 11:30 p.m. June 25 and told her boyfriend, Carlos Grace, that she “f—ed everyone else because he would not f— her,” according to an incident report obtained by The Smoking Gun.
Grooms then allegedly attacked Grace, 30, while he was on the sofa, leaving him with bleeding scratches on his face, head and neck and a bite mark on his left forearm, according to the report. Grace was able to get away to call 911 from the bathroom.
Grooms was reportedly extremely hostile to officers when they arrived. She refused to give her name or answer any questions and threatened to run over the deputy with a stroller, The Smoking Gun reports. The case report goes on to say she appeared to be “highly under the influence of alcohol.” She admitted that she had been drinking.
Grooms’ mother — 66-year-old Betty Clark — sneaked out the front door while her daughter spoke to officers. Clark said Grooms had yelled at her and punched her in the left eye, which appeared red and swollen, according to the report.
Grooms was arrested and charged with two counts of family violence battery, the report notes. She was being held at Richmond County Jail.
