Man arrested in connection with shots fired following brawl at Queens casino

SOUTH OZONE PARK, N.Y. (PIX11) — A Brooklyn man has been arrested in connection with shots fired following a massive brawl at a casino in Queens last Friday.

It all began Friday night around 10 p.m. at the opening of a Fat Tuesday daiquiri bar at the Resorts World Casino at the Aqueduct track in Queens.

Within the hour around 10:49 p.m., police received reports of shots being fire in the parking lot of the casino at 110-00 Rockaway Boulevard.

Jaquan Roberts, 22, of Brooklyn, has been charged with two counts of assault, second degree criminal possesison of a weapon, third degree criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

Officers searched the area, but no one displaying a gunshot wound was found and no injuries were reported.

Police say he had been arrested in 2010 for possession of a loaded .22 caliber American Arms revolver after he shot himself in the right leg.

Videos posted on various Instagram accounts show hundreds of people in an all-out melee, throwing chairs and fists at each other.
