CROWN HEIGHTS (PIX11) --  A car was set on fire outside the 77th Precinct in Brooklyn Wednesday evening, according to sources at the scene.

The now-torched car was in front the precinct house on Utica Avenue in Crown Heights.

The car was parked on the sidewalk outside the 77th Precinct. It is unclear if it is a police vehicle, or if the incident is related to Eric Garner protests.

The car was parked on the sidewalk outside the 77th Precinct. It is unclear if it is a police vehicle, or if the incident is related to Eric Garner protests.

The vehicle belongs to a police officer and is the officer's private car, NYPD told PIX11 News Thursday morning.

It was not immediately clear if the fire was related to protests sparked by a grand jury's decision not to indict a police officer in the in-custody death of Eric Garner.

An investigation is ongoing.
