NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Make sure you fill your MetroCard Friday night, or hit the ATM before the turn-style.
The MTA is doing upgrades on software Saturday morning, which means they'll only be accepting cold, hard cash.
Not all riders PIX11 spoke with said they were aware. The MTA says the upgrades will start 1 a.m. Saturday and end at 9:30 a.m. at the latest. The upgrade will mean that the debit and credit card machines will not be in service.
The MTA says all fare-vending machines for NYC Transit will be affected. This means that all PATH Station MetroCard vending machines, JFK AirTrain and LGA Airport machines will be impacted.
The MTA says that they apologize for the inconvenience .
