NEW YORK (PIX11) — Electric companies have been battling the elements to restore power to customers without it.

A power outage in Brooklyn left almost 10,000 Con Ed customers without power Saturday afternoon.

A Con Ed spokesman said the outage extends across the Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights neighborhoods.

The power went out just after 2 p.m. and crews are working on the problem which is believed to be in a set of overhead wires.

Power outages have popped up throughout the day Saturday as the snow continues to fall.
