The Hudson valley got pummeled today with a lot of rainfall. Montgomery Airport in Orange County recorded 5.57 inches of rainfall as of 6pm. Poughkeepsie was not far behind with 4.55 inches of rain.
A few showers and thunderstorms are possible this evening. With the loss the daytime heating, we would expect the showers to taper off by 11pm. The humidity will also go down to more comfortable levels by tomorrow morning. Overnight lows are expected to be around 70.
Skies will clear out tomorrow leaving us with partly sunny skies by the afternoon. While it may be warm with temperatures in the mid 80s, it’ll feel nice with the humidity much lower. It will be also a great day to take advantage of our beaches. While the air temperatures will be around 80 across the South Shore of Long Island, the water temperatures will be in the lower 70s. There is a moderate risk for rip currents so make sure to swim where lifeguards are located.
Sunday will also be a gorgeous day with partly to mostly skies. Highs will be in the lower 80s
Have a good weekend!
