The National Weather service has confirmed that three tornadoes touched down in the tri-state area during Monday’s wild weather.
The first confirmed EF-0 twister was in Union County, New Jersey, around 9 a.m. where it downed trees and power lines and left hundreds of residents in the dark in Berkley Heights, New Providence and Summit.
Another EF-0 tornado whirled through Fairfield County, Connecticut, causing damage from Greenwich to Stamford around 11 a.m.
A third tornado made its way through Windsor Locks and East Windsor in Connecticut in the afternoon.
EF-0 tornadoes can reach speeds between 65-85 miles per hour.
Luckily, no injuries have been reported from Monday’s storms.
