Alex Rodriguez has only been on Twitter for about a month, and he’s already being told to STFU.
A-Rod shot off a tweet on Tuesday – alerting followers that he got the official go-ahead to play baseball again – following hip surgery.
“Visit from Dr. Kelly over the weekend, who gave me the best news – the green light to play games again!” the third baseman tweeted.
The only problem – New York Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman didn’t give his green light to the slugger to make that premature announcement.
Telling ESPN New York, Cashman said, “You know what, when the Yankees want to announce something, we will. Alex should just shut the (expletive) up. That’s it. I’m going to call Alex now.”
This drama comes a day after Cashman specifically denied that Alex was cleared to play.
Perhaps A-Rod should just stick to the mindless, one-line, cliched tweets … he’s been serving up for the past month.
