In an apparent move to do damage control after admitting to using the n-word and regularly making racist jokes, celebrity chef Paula Deen has issued an interesting apology video.

In the video that appeared on an unofficial YouTube page Friday, Deen says, “I wanna apologize to everybody for the wrong that I’ve done. I want to grow and learn from this.”

With an edit seemingly after every sentence, Deen pleads for forgiveness saying, “I beg you, my children, my team, my fans, my partners, I beg for your forgiveness.”

Deen appears to tear up towards the end of the video, ending with, “Please forgive for the mistake that I’ve made.”

The apology video comes just hours after Deen stood up Matt Lauer for an appearance on “Today” to discuss the controversy.

During a May deposition for a lawsuit filed by a former employee, Deen admitted to using racist language in the past.

The former employee, who was a manager for Deen’s Savannah, Georgia restaurant, alleges racial and sexual discrimination in the workplace.
