Sean Kimerling Foundation hosts first annual “Running of the Balls” 5K race

NEW YORK (PIX11)– On Saturday morning the first ever “Running of the Balls” took place on Roosevelt Island.

It was a 5K race, fundraiser and father’s day event benefiting the Sean Kimerling Testicular Cancer Foundation.

Hundreds of runners participated in the race which raised ____.

The foundation researches and fights testicular cancer and was started in memory of Sean Kimerling who died in 2003 at the young age of 37.

Kimerling was the sports anchor for our own channel 11 news from 1997 until his untimely passing.

The annual foundation golf outing is Monday August 5th at the Sleepy Hollow Golf Club in Scarborough.
